As staff members and leaders of the HUN-REN Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences, we are convinced that the ‘STATEMENT ON THE FUTURE OF THE HUN-REN HUNGARIAN RESEARCH NETWORK’, jointly issued by the HUN-REN Directors-General, serves the long-term interests of the research community and, at the same time, promotes the necessary professional discourse, with particular regard to ensuring scientific autonomy, institutional autonomy, and predictable, effective operational frameworks.
We support efforts aimed at rethinking the operation of the research network, giving greater weight to professional considerations, and making decisions based on the involvement of the research community. We believe that open, professionally grounded dialogue is crucial for the future of Hungarian research and innovation, and our organisation's management assumes a responsible and committed role in this, just as it has done in the past.
We view our Director General’s statement as representing the interests of the entire research community, and we maintain our full confidence in the leadership of our organization.
