After 12 years, the Meeting of Young Astronomers and Astrophysicists is back as FIKUT NEXTGEN! The aim of the meeting is to provide BSc, MSc, and PhD students with an opportunity to present their work and build professional connections. The meeting is held between November 4 and 6, 2026, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue is the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics.

AGB stars and stellar pulsation workshop (5-7 October 2026)
The AGB stars and stellar pulsation workshop is organized and hosted by Konkoly Observatory in order to bring together researchers from the different fields of AGB and stellar pulsation to discuss the open questions related to AGB stars, especially connecting their variability and different classifications. The meeting is held between October 5 and 7, 2026, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue is the Konkoly Observatory of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.

MATISSE Science Days (29 September – 2 October 2026)
The MATISSE Science Days aims to bring together the community to review the latest results using the MATISSE instrument, which is the mid-infrared instrument on the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (ESO Paranal Observatory, Chile), providing an angular resolution of a few milliarcseconds. In addition, to foster collaboration, promote synergies with other instruments, and discuss plans for future development. Confronting interferometric observations with theoretical/numerical models is a special goal of the meeting.The meeting is held between 29 September and 2 October, 2026, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue is the main building of the Hungarian Acadenmy of Sciences.

CHEOPS Science Team Meeting #40 (22 – 24 September 2026)
The 40th CHEOPS Science Team Meeting will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 22 to 24 September 2026. The meeting will take place in the historic Aula Magna of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), located in the heart of Budapest's city centre and main tourist district. CHEOPS (CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite) is the first ESA Small-class mission dedicated to characterising known exoplanets via high-precision photometry of transits and occultations. The meeting is hosted by the ELTE Gothard Astrophysical Observatory and Multidisciplinary Research Centre, Szombathely.

Eruptive YSO Workshop (18 - 22 May 2026)
From May 18-22, 2026, Konkoly Observatory organized a workshop on eruptive young stars in Budapest, Hungary in hybrid format. The workshop covered various topics related to eruptive young stars from both an observational and a theoretical perspective, includin episodic accretion from low-mass to high-mass objects, eruptive young stars at various evolutionary stages: from protostars to pre-main sequence stars, from individual targets to statistical samples, recent discoveries from sky surveys, impact of eruptions on the environment, relation between accretion and ejection, chemistry of eruptive YSO disks, binaries, multiple systems, and MHD simulations. The meeting was held at them premises of Konkoly Observatory of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.

Hungarian LSST Workshop (28 Apr 2026)
This LSST workshop was organized and hosted by Konkoly Observatory in order to bring all Hungarian LSST data right holders on the same page. There are 5 Hungarian groups, and 25 resarchers alltoghether who work on LSST data from cosmology to Solar System objects and variable stars and astrophysical transients.
The meeting was held between April 28, 2026, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue was the Konkoly Observatory of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.
4th Regional LSST Workshop (25-27 Aug 2025)
The fourth Regional LSST Meeting was organized by Konkoly Observatory and brought together Eastern and Central European astronomers to share ideas and coordinate their participation of the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time, one of the largest optical astronomical sky surveys of the current decede.
The meeting was held between August 25-27, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue was the Konkoly Observatory of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.

8th p-process workshop (16-18 October 2024)
The workshop covered the following topics, more specifically nuclear physics data (theory and experiments) related to p-process nucleosynthesis, stellar models and nucleosynthesis, meteorites, presolar grains and radioactives, and galactic chemical evolution.
The meeting was held between October 16-18, 2024, in Budapest, Hungary, and the meeting venue was the Konkoly Observatory of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.

MESA@Konkoly Summer School Program (Hotel Benczúr, 28 Aug – 1 Sept 2023)
Following 11 years of MESA Summer Schools in Santa Barbara, we present MESA@Konkoly, the first MESA Summer School in Europe. Participants will gain familiarity with the open-source stellar evolution software instrument MESA and learn how to make better use of it in their own astrophysics research though extensive hands-on labs and constant interaction with MESA developers and other experienced users.
